Prevention

The described adjustment belongs only to the fuel pump Bosch. The fuel pump Lucas does not demand adjustment since it is operated the electronic ECU system.


Since the usual type of a tachometer which works from impulses of system of ignition cannot will be applied on diesel engines, on them the diagnostic socket for connection of the special measuring equipment not available in house conditions is installed. In case turns of idling differ from demanded, it is necessary to use a special tachometer or to address on the Peugeot station.

Adjustment of a cable of an accelerator

PERFORMANCE ORDER
1. Before adjustment warm up the engine up to the normal working temperature that the fan of a radiator turned on at least two times.
2. Check adjustment of a cable of an accelerator as follows.
3. The lever on the fuel pump has to contact with the screw of adjustment of the maximum turns (it is specified by an arrow), otherwise remove an adjusting clip of a cable of an accelerator and establish it in the required flute for providing a normal tension of a cable of an accelerator.
4. Remove a cable of an accelerator and check that the control lever is in contact with the fuel dosage screw.

Adjustment of turns of idling

PERFORMANCE ORDER
1. Weaken a lock-nut and unscrew the fuel dosage screw until it departs from a control lever.
2. Weaken a lock-nut and turn the screw of adjustment of turns of idling before installation of the required engine speed. Tighten a lock-nut.

Adjustment of a dosage of fuel

PERFORMANCE ORDER
1. Insert laying or an edge of the probe 1 mm thick between a control lever of the pump and the screw of adjustment of a dosage of fuel.
2. Start the engine in the idling mode. Turns of the engine have to correspond to the required values.
3. If necessary weaken a lock-nut and establish by the screw of adjustment of a dosage of fuel the required engine turns. Repeatedly tighten a lock-nut.
4. Remove laying or an edge of the probe and check idling turns.

Adjustment of the accelerated idling

PERFORMANCE ORDER
1. Switch off the engine and check that the lever is in contact with the adjustment screw. If it is necessary, weaken a lock-nut and move a nut (V) of a cable of the regulator of increase in turns of idling. Tighten a lock-nut (And).
2. Remove a vacuum hose from a diaphragm of management of increase in turns of idling and start the engine. Check that the engine worked at the raised idling turns. If necessary weaken a lock-nut and move a nut of a cable of the regulator of increase in turns of idling. Tighten a lock-nut. Switch off the engine and repeatedly connect a vacuum hose to a diaphragm.
3. In conclusion disconnect a tachometer.
4. If adjustments on increase in turns of idling are executed, adjust the shock-absorber.

Adjustment of the shock-absorber

PERFORMANCE ORDER
1. Execute all adjustments described above.
2. Weaken a lock-nut and unscrew the screw of adjustment of the shock-absorber of a control lever located on a back part of the lever and insert laying or an edge of the probe 1,0 mm thick between a core of the shock-absorber and the adjusting screw (see rice. Elements of adjustment of the fuel pump of high pressure Bosch).
3. Rotating the adjusting screw, establish such gap that the edge of the probe could move easily between a core of the shock-absorber and the screw. Tighten a lock-nut.
