5.2.19. Removal and installation of a turbocharger

GENERAL INFORMATION

Prevention

On the 1.9 liters engines the turbocharger can be removed from the engine installed on the car. On engines 2.1 liters in connection with limitation of space a turbocharger can be removed only from the engine removed from the car.


Removal

1.9 LITRES ENGINES

PERFORMANCE ORDER
1. Tighten the emergency brake, lift a forward part of the car and fix on supports.
2. Disconnect a reception exhaust pipe from a turbocharger.
3. Unscrew a nut and remove the bringing oil pipe from the top part of a turbocharger.
4. Unscrew two bolts and disconnect a flange of a returnable oil pipeline from the turbocharger basis. Remove laying.
5. Separate an entrance opening and a pipe of an exit from a turbocharger. Close a turbocharger opening a pure rag.
6. Unscrew nuts of fastening of the stabilizer of cross resistance to suspension bracket struts.
7. Unscrew the lower coupling bolt of a suspension bracket of the limiter of the course, then unscrew a nut and a bolt of fastening of a suspension bracket to the lower frame and remove a suspension bracket.
8. Make tags on intermediate to a shaft and a gear wheel of steering transfer. Unscrew tightening a bolt and a nut.
9. Establish a suitable wooden bar under the lower frame to support the lower frame when lowering.
10. Unscrew four bolts of fastening of the lower frame and lower the lower frame approximately by 300 mm to a tension of flexible hoses of steering transfer.
11. Unscrew two lower bolts of fastening of a turbocharger.
12. Supporting a turbocharger, unscrew the top bolt of fastening of a turbocharger and remove laying.
13. Lower a turbocharger and remove from under the car.

2.1 LITRES ENGINES

PERFORMANCE ORDER
1. Remove the power unit.
2. Unscrew a nut and remove the bringing oil pipe from the top part of a turbocharger.
3. Unscrew two bolts and disconnect a flange of a returnable oil pipeline from the turbocharger basis. Remove laying.
4. Unscrew a turbocharger suspension bracket bolt.

5. Unscrew three bolts fixing a turbocharger to a reverse side of a final collector (are specified by shooters).

6. Remove a turbocharger from a collector.

Installation

PERFORMANCE ORDER
1. Installation is made in the sequence, the return to removal.
2. Consider the next moments:
      – at installation of a new turbocompressor replace oil and the filter;
      – on engines 1.9 liters do not connect the bringing oil pipe before installation of both ends of a pipe;
      – on engines 1.9 liters tighten bolts of fastening of the lower frame the corresponding moment;
      – on engines 2.1 liters install the power unit;
      – before start of the engine provide oil circulation, having switched-off the electromagnetic valve of a stop of the engine and turning the engine a starter several times for 10 seconds.
