5.2.4. Accelerator cable

Removal

PERFORMANCE ORDER
1. On the 1.9 liters engines remove an accelerator cable from a control lever of the fuel pump of high pressure (it is specified by an arrow). Take an accelerator cable cover from the condensing ring established in a flange of the fuel pump.
2. On the 2.1 liters engines take an accelerator cable from the lever on the sensor of provision of management of fuel supply located on the left forward side of a motor compartment. Remove an accelerator cable cover from a sensor arm.
3. On all models take an accelerator cable from fastening brackets in a motor compartment.
4. In interior of the car open a cover of an immobilizer and turn on 90 ° a clamp of a cover of a box with fuses. Disconnect the electric socket from a block, unscrew screws of fastening and remove the lower panel from the driver.
5. Remove a bracket of fastening and disconnect an accelerator cable from the top part of a pedal of an accelerator.
6. Take an accelerator cable cover from a clamp on a suspension bracket of installation of a pedal, then tie a long thin cord to a cable of an accelerator.
7. In a motor compartment take the ring condensing an accelerator cable from a partition and take an accelerator cable. Untie a cord from an accelerator cable and leave it in a motor compartment. The cord will be required for the subsequent tightening of a new cable of an accelerator into place.

Installation

PERFORMANCE ORDER
1. Tie a cord to a new cable of an accelerator and, having pulled for the cable which is in interior of the car stretch an accelerator cable through a partition. Untie a cord from an accelerator cable, establish a cable cover in a pedal suspension bracket clamp, and connect a cable of an accelerator to a pedal.
2. Check that the cable of an accelerator is reliably fixed to a pedal then establish the lower part of the panel.
3. In a motor compartment check that the cover of a cable of an accelerator is correctly placed in the condensing ring in a partition, then place a cable on all length in fastening brackets.
4. Pull a flat washer over a cover of a cable and establish in an arm. Connect an accelerator cable to the lever.

Adjustment

PERFORMANCE ORDER
1. Remove a clip of fastening of a cover of a cable of an accelerator. Check that the control lever was in the starting position and, moving a cable cover, choose sagging of a cable of an accelerator.
2. In the established provision of a cable establish a fastening clip on an external flute of a cover of a cable before the rubber condensing ring and a washer. After installation of a clip and a cable on the places only insignificant sagging of a cable of an accelerator has to be observed. While the assistant smoothly presses an accelerator pedal, check that the control lever completely turns and comes back to a starting position.
