GENERAL INFORMATION

Safety cushion of the driver

The system of an inflatable safety cushion is intended for additional protection of the driver at strong frontal blows of the car. It provides effective protection of the driver only at simultaneous use of seat belts. The safety cushion works only in case of strong blows at which only one belts are not enough to hold a body of the person. The role of a pillow consists in filling of space between the driver and a steering wheel to reduce movement of a body forward and thus to minimize risk of getting injured of the head and thorax.

In case of head-on collision the electronic sensor of blow of a safety cushion and pyrotechnic natyazhitel of seat belts registers more or less strong delay of the car. If at collision the threshold of operation of pyrotechnic natyazhitel of seat belts is reached, the sensor sends a signal to the involving device of forward belts. At stronger blow the second signal in safety cushion model located in a nave of a steering wheel is sent. The pillow jumps instantly out and inflated. Later several fraction of a second a pillow, being inflated, fills space between the driver and a steering wheel, thereby interfering with dangerous movement of the head and a thorax of the driver forward. At once after blow the gas which is contained in a pillow comes to light from openings in a back part of a cover. It is provided not to break visibility from a driver's seat and to provide a possibility of bystry escape of the car.

Passenger airbag

The passenger airbag is inflated along with a pillow of the driver and operates similarly.

Prevention

The gas which is coming out a pillow can make the insignificant irritating impact.

The system of a safety cushion works at frontal blow depending on the size of delay of the car. The last entirely is defined by the nature of blow (collision speed, a type of an obstacle).

The system of a safety cushion does not work at side-winders or behind, and also at light or average frontal blow when there are enough seat belts to provide optimum protection.

For ensuring the most effective protection by means of a safety cushion it is necessary to use seat belts surely. In case of collision if the seat belt is not put on, the driver or the passenger begins to move forward from the very beginning of blow that does not leave the place for deployment of a pillow that it could fill the space intended for it completely.

It is forbidden to establish a steering wheel from other models. Any other steering wheel is incompatible with other elements of a security system that can cause untimely operation or failure of system.

It is forbidden to pierce a nave of a steering wheel in which there is a pillow, or to subject it to strong blows. It is forbidden to remove a steering wheel.

The system of a safety cushion can be used only once. After accident check systems of a pillow and seat belts. After operation of safety cushions it is necessary to replace:

– a steering wheel with the pillow which is built in a nave;
– passenger airbag;
– electronic control unit pillows;
– natyazhitel of seat belts.

In conclusion check serviceability of all system for HUNDRED.

For the purpose of safety check system of safety cushions if the car was stolen or a stealing attempt was made.

Control of serviceability of safety cushions

For control of serviceability of a pillow the signaling device located on the dashboard serves. It lights up at inclusion of ignition and has to go out 6 seconds later.

Malfunction of a pillow is possible if the signaling device does not light up at inclusion of ignition, does not die away in 6 seconds after inclusion of ignition and blinks within 5 minutes, and then remains included. In these cases check system of a safety cushion.

All elements of a safety cushion are calculated on operation within 10 years from the date of release of the car. At the end of the specified term it is necessary to replace them.
If the car is equipped with a safety cushion for the passenger, then it is forbidden to put on a seat of the forward passenger a children's seat a back forward and to put legs or any objects on the forward console.
