6.1.4. System of start of the engine

GENERAL INFORMATION

If the starter does not work in the provision of a key "start of the engine", the following reasons are possible:

 – wrong code of system of anti-start;
 – the accumulator is faulty;
 – break of an electric chain between the ignition lock, the traction relay, the accumulator and a starter;
 – the traction relay is faulty;
 – mechanical or electric defect of a starter.

Check of the accumulator

PERFORMANCE ORDER
1. For check of the accumulator light headlights. If they grow dull in several seconds, so the accumulator is discharged.
2. Recharge or replace the accumulator. If headlights do not grow dull, include a starter and watch light. If they grow dull, so tension arrives to a starter and malfunction is in it. If headlights continue to burn brightly (and there is no click of the traction relay of a starter), it specifies that there is a damage to an electric chain or the traction relay is faulty. If the starter rotates slowly, and the accumulator in good shape, then it specifies that the starter is faulty or there is considerable resistance at an electric chain of a starter.
3. If damage to an electric chain is suspected, disconnect the accumulator and clear all connections and contacts in a starter power-supply circuit. Repeatedly connect the accumulator and, using the voltmeter, check tension on elements of an electric chain to a starter.
4. If the accumulator and an electric chain in good shape, remove a food wire from the traction relay and connect to it the voltmeter. Turn the ignition key in situation "start of the engine". The full tension of the accumulator has to be in this family way.
5. Contacts of the traction relay can be checked by connection of the voltmeter between contact of the traction relay connected to a starter and the earth. At turn of the ignition key in situation "start of the engine" the voltmeter has to show tension. In the absence of tension the solenoid of the traction relay is faulty or burned contacts of the traction relay.
6. If the electric chain and the traction relay are serviceable, means the starter is faulty.
