3.3.7. Cleaning and survey of a head of the block of cylinders

GENERAL INFORMATION

Prevention

If the engine was overheated, then it is quite possible that the head of the block of cylinders is deformed. Therefore it is necessary to check it carefully.


Cleaning

PERFORMANCE ORDER
1. Remove the remains of old laying from a head of the block of cylinders.
2. Clear a deposit from combustion chambers, then wash up a head in the corresponding solvent.
3. Clear of carbonaceous deposits of the valve, it is possible even with application of a wire brush.

Head of the block of cylinders
1. Carefully examine a head of the block of cylinders on existence of cracks and other damages. In the presence of cracks the head is subject to replacement.
2. Using a metal ruler and the probe check planeness of the interfaced surface of a head of the block of cylinders. At not planeness of more than 0,1 mm it is necessary to pereshlifovat a head, at the same time its height has to conform to requirements.
3. Check a condition of saddles of valves. If they are burned, worn-out or have defects, they need to be replaced. If wear of a saddle of the valve is insignificant, they need to be ground in.
4. Check the directing valve plugs for wear, inserting into them a core of the valve and moving it to the parties. Movement has to be insignificant. If movement is excessive, take the valve and measure diameter of a core of the valve, if necessary replace the valve. If the core of the valve is not worn-out, so the directing plug which needs to be replaced is worn-out. Replacement of the directing plugs of valves should be made at the Peugeot station.
5. When replacing of the directing plugs of valves of a saddle of valves there have to be pereshlifovana and are ground in.
6. On diesel engines examine vortex cameras on existence of damages and splits. Small cracks are admissible. Replacement of vortex cameras is necessary if they are strongly burned and deformed or their landing in a head of the block of cylinders weakened. The expert has to make replacement of the vortex camera.
7. Check a vystupaniye of the vortex camera from the block of cylinders. For check of a vystupaniye establish an arm with the indicator of hour type on the interfaced surface of a head of the block of cylinders, establish a measuring tip of the indicator on a head surface, install the indicator on 0, then move an indicator tip on the vortex camera. On a scale of the indicator read the size of a vystupaniye of the vortex camera. Similarly check a vystupaniye of other vortex cameras.
Valves
8. Check a plate of each valve for local corrosion, prozhog, cracks and the general wear. Check a valve core for wear and a bend. Check wear of an end face of a core of the valve. With any defects the valve is subject to replacement.
9. Measure by a micrometer diameter of a core of the valve in several places on core length. Any essential distinction in the obtained data indicates wear of a core of the valve and obligatory replacement of the valve.
10. If valves are in satisfactory condition, they have to be inserted into the places and are ground in. If plates of valves or a saddle are strongly worn-out, before their grinding in it is necessary to process mechanically or even to replace.
11. Grinding in of valves is carried out as follows. Establish a head of the block of cylinders by combustion chambers up on wooden whetstones.
12. Grease with paste for grinding in of the place on a plate of the valve and a valve saddle, install the valve on the place and on a plate of the valve establish a sucker with the holder (handle). Rotating the valve a sucker in different directions, grind in the valve, and it is periodically necessary to raise the valve for redistribution of pritirochny paste.
13. If rough pritirochny paste is used, to make grinding in before emergence of a uniform opaque surface on a saddle of the valve and the valve. Then erase the used composition of paste and repeat process of grinding in with fine paste. To make grinding in before emergence of easy gray and opaque color.
14. Carefully remove traces of pritirochny paste, using the corresponding solvent.
Valve elements
15. Check valvate springs for damage signs. The minimum free length is not determined by Peugeot so the only way of check of a spring is a comparison with a new spring.
16. Establish springs to one of end faces on a bed, check a spring axis deviation from the vertical plane and length of springs. In case of damage of one of springs it is necessary to replace all springs in a set.
17. Replace maslootrazhatelny caps irrespective of their state.
