3.3.19. Start of the engine after capital repairs

PERFORMANCE ORDER
1. On the engine installed in a motor compartment of the car check levels of engine oil and cooling liquid. Check that all earlier removed wires and hoses are established on the places.
Petrol engines
2. Unscrew spark plugs and disconnect fuel system, having removed electric sockets from fuel nozzles.
3. Establish spark plugs and connect fuel system.
Diesel engines
4. To prevent start of the engine on the 1.9 liters engines, disconnect a wire from the electromagnetic valve of a stop of the engine on the fuel pump, then turn the engine a starter until the control lamp of pressure of oil does not go out. Repeatedly connect a wire to the electromagnetic valve of a stop of the engine. On the 2.1 liters engines it is enough to remove the relay of multipurpose system of injection of fuel located in the ECU block.
5. Fill fuel system with fuel.
6. Press an accelerator pedal against the stop, turn the ignition key in situation "M" and wait, the lamp of control of work of candles of an incandescence will not go out yet.
All engines
7. Start the engine. Start of the engine can be more long, than usually, because of shutdown of fuel system.
8. During the operation of the engine idling check existence of leak of fuel, cooling liquid and oil. At this stage of operation of the engine the smell and smoke from heated parts of the engine at burning out of the oil which got on the engine at assembly can be observed.
9. The engine has to idle until cooling liquid does not heat up that will be felt through the top hose of a radiator. Then switch off the engine.
10. Check installation of a corner of an advancing of ignition (petrol engines) or installation of the fuel pump (diesel engines).
11. Check levels of oil and cooling liquid.
12. On the 2.1 liters diesel engines after cooling of the engine it is necessary to tighten repeatedly bolts of fastening of a head of the block of cylinders.
13. At installation in the engine of new pistons, rings or bearings of the crankshaft it is necessary to make an engine running in during the run of the first 800 km. Do not operate the engine with completely open butterfly valve or under big loading with a low frequency of rotation of the engine. It is recommended to replace oil and an oil filter at the end of the running in period.
