Replacement of spark plugs

The correct functioning of spark plugs – one of the most important conditions of effective operation of the engine. It is necessary that on the engine spark plugs only the ordered type were established. At the serviceable engine cleaning of spark plugs – rare operation.

1. On liter models 1.8 and 2.0 for access to spark plugs it is necessary to remove the ignition coil fixed in the center of a casing of a cover of a head of the block of cylinders. Remove the electric socket (it is specified by an arrow) on the left side of the coil of ignition and unscrew 6 bolts of fastening. Remove the ignition coil up and unscrew candles.
2. On some models for access to spark plugs it is necessary to remove air branch pipes.
3. On models of engines with a capacity of 1.6 liters in the absence of tags on high-voltage wires it is necessary to mark them not to be mistaken at their further installation.
4. To clear candles, using a brush, the vacuum cleaner or a stream of compressed air that will exclude hit of dirt in engine cylinders after a vyvinchivaniye of spark plugs.
5. Unscrew candles, using a candle key (see rice. Tools for removal of spark plugs and regulation of a spark gap).
6. Visual control of a working part of a spark plug can show a condition of the engine. If the nasal part of the isolation center of a spark plug pure and white, without raid, it testifies to too poor mix. It also specifies that a candle too hot, i.e. heat from the central electrode is taken away slowly.
If this is so, then it is necessary to adjust composition of mix or to replace a candle.
7. If the nasal part of the isolation center of a candle is covered with a black raid, then it means that mix too rich. If the raid black and oily, then it testifies to wear of the engine and need of its check and repair.
8. If the nasal part of the isolation center is covered with a light brown raid, then the composition of mix is optimum and the engine is in good shape.
9. The interelectrode gap of a spark plug is of great importance since at too big or too small gap the spark size changes that leads to decrease in overall performance of the engine. The gap has to conform to technical requirements always.
10. Check of a gap is carried out by a wire template or the probe. Correction of a gap is carried out by a podgibaniye of a side electrode. The central electrode cannot be bent at all since it can lead to breakage of the insulator and an exit of a candle out of operation.
11. Before installation of a spark plug in the engine check that the carving was pure and all threads of a carving whole. Before installation of a candle in the engine it is possible to grease a carving part of a candle with special cupriferous antiprigarny structure.
12. For screwing up of a candle on several rounds it is possible to use a piece of a rubber hose into which on the one hand to insert the insulator of a candle and, rotating a hose, to wrap a candle on several rounds. Then it is necessary to remove a rubber hose and to screw up a candle the required moment.
13. On models with an engine capacity of 1.8 and 2.0 liters establish on ignition coil candles, fix them by bolts and connect electric sockets.
14. On engines with a working capacity of 1.6. liter establish high-voltage wires according to marking and all earlier removed elements interfering access to candles.

Check of system of ignition

1. On models with a working volume of 1.6 liters check a condition of high-voltage wires which have to be pure and dry, and also should not have traces of electric breakdown and oxidation. On models of 1.8 and 2.0 liters check a condition of sockets of primary winding of the coil of ignition which also should not have oxidation traces.
2. Check internal state of a candle tip which should not have signs of corrosion which represents solid white powder. Densely establish a candle tip on a candle.
3. Replacement of candles is made in a set.
