2.1.3.4.1. Replacement of cooling liquid

GENERAL INFORMATION

Prevention

Replacement of cooling liquid is made on the cold engine. Avoid hit of cooling liquid on the painted surfaces of a body and clothes. Otherwise wash out the place where cooling liquid, a large amount of water got.


PERFORMANCE ORDER
Discharge of cooling liquid
1. Uncover a broad tank. For this purpose turn a cover counterclockwise before the first fixing, wait, residual pressure in the cooling system will not be taken off yet, then press a cover down and in this situation turn counterclockwise before the second fixing and finally uncover.
2. Remove a mudguard under a motor compartment and install a container under a radiator on the left side.
3. Weaken a drain stopper on a radiator and give the chance to flow down cooling liquid in a container. If necessary it is possible to put to a drain opening (2) a piece (1) of the corresponding pipe for the direction of a stream of discharge of cooling liquid.
4. For acceleration of discharge of cooling liquid open screws (are specified by an arrow) removals of air from the cooling system. Screws are located in the connecting coupling of a hose of a heater on a partition of a motor compartment and above the thermostat case. On some models the screw of removal of air can be on the left top side of a radiator.
5. When the stream of the cooling liquid which is coming out a radiator stops, install a container under a drain stopper of the block of cylinders. On models of 1.6 and 1.8 liters the drain stopper is located on the forward party of the block of cylinders, and on models of 2.0 liters – from the back party of the block of cylinders.
6. Unscrew a drain stopper and give the chance to flow down cooling liquid from the block of cylinders.
7. After discharge of cooling liquid screw up traffic jams of a radiator and on the block of cylinders.
Washing of the cooling system
8. Cooling liquid should be changed periodically, and to wash out the cooling system since in channels of system the rust and dirt is formed. Radator it is necessary to wash out irrespective of the engine.
Washing of a radiator
9. To wash out a radiator, it is necessary to press an output branch pipe of a radiator and to open the screw of discharge of cooling liquid.
10. Remove cooling system hoses from a radiator.
11. Insert a hose into an entrance opening of the top tank of a radiator, include water and wash out a radiator before emergence of clear water from the lower tank of a radiator.
12. If it is not possible to wash out a radiator clear water, then use detergent.
Washing of the engine
13. For washing of the engine unscrew a drain stopper of the block of cylinders, screws of removal of air and remove the thermostat.
14. Disconnect hoses of system of an okhdazhdeniye from a radiator and give through a hose a pure stream to the block of cylinders of the engine and wash out it before emergence from the lower hose going to a radiator pure.
15. Install the thermostat and connect cooling system hoses.
Filling of the cooling system
16. Before filling of the cooling system make sure that all hoses and collars in good shape. Pay attention that mix of antifreezes has to be used all the year round for prevention of corrosion. Also check that a stopper on a radiator and drain traffic jams of the block of cylinders were established into place.
17. Snimimte a stopper from a broad tank.
18. Unscrew screws of removal of air from the cooling system.
19. Install the additional tank (it is specified by an arrow) on a broad tank and to slowly fill system. The additional tank on a broad tank and slowly to fill system. The additional tank has to be installed on a broad tank hermetically that will provide filling of the highest points of the cooling system.
20. In process of filling of the cooling system with liquid as soon as coolant appears, free from air bubbles, from under the screw of removal of air, gradually, since the lower screws, screw up screws. The additional tank has to be full during all process of filling of system.
21. After filling of the cooling system tighten all screws and an ustanovitya a stopper on a broad tank.
22. Start the engine and warm up it up to the working temperature then check the level of cooling liquid and if necessary bring it to norm.
