10:23. Anti-blocking system of brakes (ABS)

GENERAL INFORMATION

The anti-blocking system prevents blocking of wheels at sharp braking. Thanks to it the car at full braking remains operated.

The system consists of the hydraulic block of the regulator and 4-wheeled sensors.

The block of the regulator contains the electronic control device (ECU), 8 hydraulic electromagnetic valves (on 2 on each brake) and the pump with the electric drive.

Electromagnetic valves are run by the ECU block which receives signals from four sensors installed on each wheel of the car (forward sensors are fixed on naves, and back are attached to a suspension bracket of installation of a support), which control the speed of rotation of each wheel. Comparing these signals, the ECU block can determine car speed. Due to comparison of speed of separately taken wheel with the average speed of the car the control unit defines a condition of blocking of a wheel. When the wheel approaches blocking, pressure of brake fluid is too high therefore pressure in a support decreases on a control unit signal. It occurs until the wheel does not begin to accelerate again. Then the valve are closed again and pressure created by a brake pedal begins to make impact repeatedly. However value of pressure in a brake contour of this wheel not above the general pressure in system. Work of ABS at sharp braking repeats on each wheel until the effort is made for a pedal or the car does not stop.

At any malfunction in the ABS system there is its shutdown. In this case the control lamp of ABS on the dashboard lights up, and the brake system works in the usual mode.

REGULATOR BLOCK

Removal

PERFORMANCE ORDER
1. Remove the negative plug from the accumulator.
2. Release a bracket and disconnect the main electric socket from the regulator block. Unscrew a nut and disconnect the grounding tire from the block.
3. Mark brake tubes, unscrew connecting nuts and disconnect tubes from the regulator block.
4. Unscrew nuts of fastening of the regulator and take it from a motor compartment.

Installation

PERFORMANCE ORDER
1. Install the regulator into place and fix by nuts.
2. Connect brake tubes and tighten fastening nuts the required moment.
3. Connect the electric socket and the tire of grounding to the regulator block.
4. Remove air from the brake system.

ELECTRONIC CONTROL DEVICE (ECU)

Removal

PERFORMANCE ORDER
1. The ECU block can be removed from the regulator when the block of the regulator remains on the car. Remove the accumulator and a support under it.
2. Release a bracket and disconnect the electric socket from the ECU block.
3. Unscrew bolts of fastening and take the ECU block from a motor compartment.

Installation

PERFORMANCE ORDER
1. Install the ECU block on the regulator and fix by bolts.
2. Connect the electric socket to the block and install the accumulator.

FORWARD WHEEL SENSOR (SENSOR OF ROTATION OF THE WHEEL)

Removal

PERFORMANCE ORDER
1. Remove the negative plug from the accumulator.
2. Lift a forward part of the car and record on supports. Remove a wheel.
3. Unscrew a nut and a bolt (are specified by shooters).
4. Remove a protective board from the sensor.
5. Disconnect the electric socket located on a wire of the sensor of rotation of a wheel.
6. Unscrew a bolt of fastening of the sensor of rotation of a wheel.
7. Remove the sensor from a rotary fist.

Installation

PERFORMANCE ORDER
1. Make sure that the interfaced surfaces of the sensor and a rotary fist pure, and grease with a small layer of lubricant an opening for installation of the sensor in a rotary fist.
2. Check that the tip of the sensor is pure and enters freely a rotary fist.
3. Grease a carving of a bolt of fastening of the sensor with means against unscrewing (Loctite Frenetanch). Install the sensor in a rotary fist and fix by a bolt.
4. Connect the electric socket to the sensor.
5. Establish a protective board to the sensor and fix by a nut and a bolt.

BACK WHEEL SENSOR (SENSOR OF ROTATION OF THE WHEEL)

Removal

PERFORMANCE ORDER
1. Lift a back part of the car and record on supports. Remove the corresponding back wheel.
2. Disconnect the electric socket (укзан an arrow) from the sensor.
3. Unscrew a bolt and take the sensor (it is specified by an arrow) from a nest.

Installation

PERFORMANCE ORDER
1. Make sure that the interfaced surfaces of the sensor and a nave pure. Apply a thin film of lubricant on an opening for installation of the sensor.
2. Make sure that the tip of the sensor is pure and easily enters a nave.
3. Grease a carving of a bolt of fastening of the sensor with means against unscrewing (Loctite Frenetanch). Install the sensor in a nest and fix by a bolt.
4. Connect the electric socket of the sensor.
