7.4. Hydraulic control system of coupling



Elements of a hydraulic control system of coupling (the main cylinder, the working cylinder and connecting hoses) represent uniform knot and cannot be divided.

Access to the main cylinder is extremely limited. Peugeot recommends use of the special tool (0216J). It is possible to use a cap wrench with the cut-through groove to put on it a hose.


1. Disconnect the negative plug of the accumulator.
2. In interior of the car open a cover of an immobilizer and turn on 90 ° a clamp of a cover of a box with fuses. Disconnect the electric socket from a block, unscrew screws of fastening and remove the lower panel from the driver.
3. Remove the air filter and the inlet air channel.
4. Remove the spherical hinge of a pusher of the main cylinder from a coupling pedal.
5. In a motor compartment remove a tank of the main cylinder of coupling from a partition.
6. Using the special Peugeot tool or a cap key with the cut-through groove, turn the main cylinder on 90 ° clockwise and remove it from a partition.
7. Remove the working cylinder (1), having pressed it (2), and in this situation having turned on 90 ° counterclockwise (3).
8. Take a hydraulic hose from brackets of fastening and take all knot from a motor compartment.



On new knot the pusher of the executive cylinder is closed by a plastic cover which is broken off by the first pressing a coupling pedal. Do not try to remove this cover before installation of a pusher in a pedal since during the work the pusher can jump out of a pedal nest.

1. Press a pedal of coupling and hold it in this situation.
2. Install the main cylinder of coupling, combining a white tag on the cylinder with the corresponding white tag on a partition. Using the special Peugeot tool, press and turn the cylinder on 90 ° counterclockwise before its accurate fixing.
3. Install a tank of the main cylinder on a partition.
4. Grease the working end of a pusher of the executive cylinder with lubricant on the basis of a disulfide of molybdenum and install the working cylinder into place, having moved and in this situation having turned it on 90 ° clockwise.
5. Fix a hydraulic hose by brackets in a motor compartment.
6. Grease the spherical hinge of a pusher of the main cylinder, then lift a pedal of coupling and connect to a pusher.
7. Slowly press a pedal of coupling and slowly manually lift it back. In 10 seconds repeat this operation and check that the pedal normally comes back to a starting position.
8. Establish earlier removed elements in the lower part of the panel and connect the accumulator.
